Strengthening Our Communities: Collaborative Approaches to Prevent Youth Suicide

IAIAs Center for Lifelong Education presents a two day workshop to discuss collaborative approaches to preventing youth suicide. All those interested in participating are welcome, not only those who work in Native communities. There are no costs to attend.

Plenary sessions cover topics such as Creative Arts and the Healing Process and Recognizing New Forms of Self-Destructive Behavior in Youth. Breakout sessions inlcude a wide range of topics such as Hope and Healing: Assisting Youths and Teens in Coping with Trauma and Surviving the Death of a Loved One to Culturally Based Healing Practices.

The conference is sponsored by IAIA Center for Lifelong Education, the NM Department of Health, Office of School and Adolescent Health-Youth Suicide Prevention and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
